The Geospatial Centre at the University of Waterloo Library, in Waterloo, Ontario, has collaborated with Faculty, staff, and students in a number of projects employing ArcGIS Online to conduct original research, collect public data, and to manage, visualize and share cartographic and time-line related collections. Used in the fields of history, archives, recreation and leisure, geography and GIS, the Library has played a role in helping members of the campus create and share their research with the public via AGO. Learn how archival diaries have had traveler’s routes mapped, how dusty military Defense Overprints have digitally re-surfaced, how historical air photos have delighted the local community, and how members of the university have bought- into spatial data collection and visualizations. This paper will also provide an overview of the several Story Maps created, as well as the Data Collector used to gather data via mobile devices.
